What We Know So Far . . .

This blog has two purposes. The first is to force me to actually start planning this fundraiser in earnest.

The other is to let you in on what a Day of the Dead Dinner Show is and how this strange little event gets itself off the ground each year.

The Day of the Dead Dinner Show was born in the Smoki Museum Pueblo, where it will be held again this year after spending the last few years at the Hotel Saint Michael.

As a fundraiser for KYXS - Coyote Radio, Prescott's Community Radio Group, the event features a night of comedy radio theater, music, art auction and a great dinner. Every year we have a t-shirt created special for the event. You can see the artwork for this year's event in the previous blog post. Pretty cool, eh? Check out some t-shirts from previous years.

Okay, what do we know at this point? Christian Smith and I are still hammering out the comedy radio theater show, entitled, "War of the Squirrels." We're starting to think it will be better than mildly amusing and that's a much better place to be than we were two weeks ago.

The show will be Saturday, November 11 in Prescott, AZ in the Pueblo Building at the Smoki Museum. There are only 120 seats, max. The show has sold out in 5 of the 6 previous years. There are rumors that people who take dates to the show end up "very, very lucky" but there are varying definations of what that means.

So, what does Coyote Radio Theater sound like? Check out "The Dead Votes Society" from last last year's show.

What else? Local singer-songwriter-woodworker-spokesmodel? Pat Beary will return this year with a new mordida, a song of the dead. More about that later.

In fact, more about a lot more later. Right now, I have to knuckle down and finish writing my part of this show. (imagine overwrought Captain Kirk at word processor) MUST . . . THINK . . . FUNNY . . .
